Trouble Sleeping?

Does it make me a bad parent if I laughed at this when I saw it?

9 MONTHS OLD!

Eli is nine months old today. Here is his newest face, he scrunches up his nose when he smiles and then he sort of snorts and laughs!

I promise, it is a happy face!

And pulling up to standing is not isolated to the crib...

Didn't Take As Long As I Thought...

So, I thought we still had time...but here is how we found Eli this afternoon! He wouldn't go down for a nap and we went to check on him...his face is so shiny because he drooled all over himself chewing on the crib rail!

This is also why you should always wear pants - you never know when your mother is going to snap a picture and post it on the internet!

I guess it was a good idea to take down that mobile last night!

Ch...Ch...Changes

This is how Eli was waiting for me this morning. He was talking and sounded fussy, but that was clearly just a ploy to get me to come in...all smiles as soon as the door opened!

His feet were just hanging out of the crib. As you can see, we have had to lower the mattress to the lowest setting and take off the bumpers. Not only is Eli sitting up on his own now, but he also pulled himself up to a standing postition when Daddy got him out of bed on Tuesday morning. I was so sad to have missed it - I know daycare must hide things from me - I wish Daddy would, too!

Last week, I took the mobile out of the crib - it was on top of Eli when I woke him up from his nap so we could leave for the Cape! One of my scariest Mommy moments so far - what if he had gotten tangled up in it??? It is back for now as it is much further away with the lower mattress position, but I think it is coming down permanently soon!

Eli has also started eating saltines. We tried it at home last night. Daycare mentioned he loved them - it was nerve-wracking to watch him eat it, but he did it! How am I going to handle solids?

We are still working on the sippy cup and getting Eli to hold his own bottle...but it looks like he is doing okay with the cup in this picture!

First Time at the Beach!

We took Eli to Long Pond tonight for his first beach experience. He was very unsure on his feet in the sand!

Eli and Daddy in their shades - such a cute family, huh?

Auntie Heather took this picture for us - Mommy and Daddy walking in the water at sunset with their baby boy - although he is growing and changing so quickly, we can't call him a baby much longer.

We noticed another tooth starting to come out today! Eli was very fussy for Auntie Heather last night and would not settle down for a nap for Mommy this morning - that is when I noticed another tooth starting to come up. It is right next to his first one!

On the way to the Cape!

We left for the Cape last night, and as you can see, we were packed as full as we could be! We found out how much we needed to pack! Who knew you needed so much stuff for just 3 nights??

Reggie was packed in tightly as well! He had plenty of room to get up and move around. He kept standing up and resting his head on the backseat. We were afraid Eli would wake up and be scared with Reggie's big, furry head (and nasty breath) right in his face!

Our first morning on the Cape was today...it is rainy! We put Eli in the Pack 'n Play to try to keep him quiet as we were the first ones awake. He started smooshing his face against the side - it was so cute. Jacob helped me get this picture - Eli had stopped smooshing his face and Jacob did it to encourage him to do it again. Eli loves his cousin!

My new favorite face!

Eli started making this face the other day - I love it. I know he is teething and he is basically sucking on his lip, but how cute is it???

I can't believe how much he is growing and changing. He started doing a fake cough and if you fake cough at him, he will do it back.

Daddy and Eli were also clicking their tongues back and forth - Eli has a huge smile on his face when he does it!

What is wrong with this picture??

Daddy put Eli in the Exersaucer without putting his feet in and Eli just looked around with a big smile on his face...it didn't phase him at all!

I went to get Eli from a nap - well, he laid in his crib for 45 minutes of talking, so calling it a nap is a stretch...

But, when I went to get him, he had pulled down one bumper on the end of the crib. It was still tied to the sides, but he pulled it down and was laying on it. Apparently, there is not enough room in the crib as he felt the need to stick his feet out the side...

And, during the same "nap" - doublefisting binkies!

Swimming!

Eli and Mommy went swimming on Saturday at Sandy's mom's house with Sandy and Sophia. Eli loved the water and the float he used. Daddy came with us, but did not go swimming. I think Eli will love the pool at the Cape in a few weeks!

Mommy might just have to get over her fear of the water as it seems she has a small fish for a child! Time to learn how to swim Mommy!

He kept reaching for Sophia, an older woman!
